Lost Palestine

This project was created in 2019 for the ISTD. I chose to look at Palestine in relation to the “Lost” brief. Not only have they lost land but they have also lost their basic human rights and human necessities.

I used Maslow’s hierarchy of needs to highlight how the Palestinian’s aren’t even making the bottom tier of human needs such as health, shelter, food, water, sleep, property, social stability, employment, clothing and so on. The chapters in my book based on these losses. The chapters are broken down into the following; displacement, detainment, health care and deaths.

The chapter openings used Arabic and Hebrew words or phrases. The words and phrases differ depending on which side of the conflict you are on. I wanted to use type as a way to express how voiceless the Palestinian’s feel so the Hebrew is much larger and obscures most of the Arabic text.
